DMDS Traffic Notifications, Now with Twice the Awesomeness
We work with a growing number of traffic teams at destinations across the world and are always looking for ways to make their lives easier. The new DMDS Notifications go a long way in doing that. Now everything you could possibly want to know about an Order and its associated assets are all in your Notification email and additional data, previews, confirmations or Help is just a click away.

Clicking the Play or View Order button will give you the opportunity to preview the spot or view additional details on the order.

With a single button click you can Confirm Delivery – or see that the file has already been received by your facility. Having a problem? Hit Help and be connected with DMDS Support instantly!

Attachments Available Directly within Notifications
For those that don’t like clicking a button to download traffic instructions, they can now be attached directly to notification emails. All joking aside, this was actually a requested feature due to certain automation tools that expect and analyze an attached document. The system supports PDF’s, Word docs, Excel docs and Text files. No attachment is larger than 2mb.

New Asset-Based Library Option
A number of destinations requested an option to view their libraries based on all of their available assets rather than organized via Orders placed. Ask and we make it happen. Get all the Asset details you could possibly want from a quick glance. Each row in your library provides the basics:

You can add or remove the fields you want to see in the Field Options menu (and yes, the system just remembers your preferences for next time).

Clicking on a row gets you a bunch of extra details in the Preview Panel on the right:

Of course the same awesome ‘inteli-sense’ search and filter works just as great as it always has. Type in an Ad-ID to see the associated assets or type a brand to see any and all assets available from that brand that have been sent to you.
You can turn the asset-based library feature on today by clicking on Preferences Clicking ‘System Settings’ and changing your Library Type to ‘Asset-Based Library’.
Icons Galore!
We are constantly looking for ways to cram more information about the files we deliver to you into smaller and smaller spaces. We’ve implemented and updated a series of icons to represent some common and important pieces of file metadata:

DMDS Music
Fast and Easy Submission Consideration for MTV VMA’s
The new ‘VMA Categories’ metadata for submissions to MTV and their related stations will give the programming and awards team a direct indication of the awards to consider the video for if it is selected for airing on the station.

Instant Downloads Direct from Notifications Now Available
Make it faster and easier for destinations to download your latest release, direct from the email notification they receive. Select the ‘Allow Download from Notifications’ option when sending your release and we’ll take care of the rest!

DMDS Core
DMDS QC Report Updates
Every file uploaded to DMDS gets a quality report that is generated ‘in the cloud’. These reports can be automatically sent to you via email or downloaded in the File Manager. We’ve added a new ‘Executive Summary’ page which provides clearer insights into the upload file and detailed descriptions for each of the criteria.

Updated Mac Manager
Auto-Login Available for the Mac App
You can now setup your Mac Manager to Auto Login when you start your computer. You can also optionally set up the Manager to launch the DMDS homepage as well.

Custom Location and Types for XML Downloads
The Mac Manager now has an option to include an XML file with downloaded assets and can move those files to multiple locations in a variety of different formats to ease workflow synchronizations. Formats are available that will work in conjunction with Telestream Flip Factory, Rhozet Carbon Coder and many other third party tools.

Metadata Auto Fill Means Less Manual Data Entry
Do you hate data entry? I know we do. But you’ve got to do it when submitting your media to broadcasters. So we’ve made it a bit easier by adding ‘Default’ values for certain metadata fields that will be automatically filled out when you drag an asset into DMDS. These can be overridden at any time. For those delivering spots, we also added a feature which automatically calculates the SOM, LOM and EOM of the file you load into the system. Now THAT’s cool!

Quality In, Quality Out
We are always trying to improve the feedback tools and mechanisms for letting content owners know when there is an issue with their digital asset. The latest version of the Mac Manager builds on the already established QC check by adding verifications for Bit Rate Mode, Scan Order and Audio Format.

New Shortcut Menu Prefs
Separate target folders for Audio and Video download folders as well as enhancements to the Prefs window.

Oh yeah…and Some Other Stuff
- We also updated support for embedding ID3 tags in downloaded MP3’s.
- Improved the speed and performance of Accelerated Uploads for Advertising and Music users uploading videos.
- Cleaned up a bunch of issues experienced by Lion users.
- Fixed a naggy bug where images and short audio files wouldn’t download correctly.
- Fixed the ordering in the Genre drop down.
Updated PC Manager
Client Side Audio QC Checks
The PC Manager has 4 new audio related QC checks which we have found to be common errors by media uploaders. The checks confirm the:
- Proper Phase of the audio;
- Ensure that the file uploaded is not Mono;
- Monitor for Peaks above a threshold of -10db and;
- Check compliance with ITUR-1770 – which can also be utilized to check compliance with the new CALM act.

DMDS Open API
DMDS has been busy building the best platform for media distribution in the business. Our focus has been on building easy to use tools for the people Sending the Releases/Orders and those receiving them at Destinations around the world. We are opening up our API so that other vendors can capitalize on these efforts and tap into the fast, worry free delivery architecture of DMDS. Our RESTful API allows Senders to Commit Assets, Culminate Destination Lists, View Assets, Submit Releases/Orders and verify Deliveries. Destinations can determine all available assets, perform asset metadata queries, and customize requirements displayed for media and traffic submissions.
