DMDS Labs, or the ‘Yangaroo Skunk Works’ is a series of on-going projects that takes its inspiration from the infamous division of Lockheed Martin that worked on ‘off-the-books’ projects and produced some of the most interesting and progressive aircraft designs. While our projects are smaller in scale (and admittedly a little less cool) compared to stealth aircraft design; they are the latest, greatest or upcoming aspects of the DMDS system – either in concept or close to completion in an upcoming software update.

DMDS Supports AS-12

DMDS is working closely with the AMWA (Advanced Media Workflow Association) to integrate full support for AS-12.  Coupled with previous efforts on AD-ID integration; the feature should offer a great opportunity to introduce the idea of ‘slateless’ file delivery in the very near future?  While AS-12 deals specifically with Advertising content... imagine what we can do for Music Video delivery... hmmmm!

DMDS Mac Manager Advanced QC

As you might have noticed, we recently added support for the detection of the Audio Configuration, Phase, Peak, Loudness (CALM Act), Chroma/Luma and Field Dominance issues into the Quality Checks of files being prepped for upload.  The same advanced tools are coming to the Mac Manager soon... very soon.

SCC Files Available with All HD Video Downloads

A number of destination workflows involve advance handling of captioned materials.  We've received a growing number of requests to deliver the SCC caption file along with the video.  Ask and ye shall receive.  An upcoming software update will support delivery of the SCC along with all HD video assets.
